ATTENTION: This motion profile was created on a DOF Reality platform that did not have the SFU gear box upgrade. If you have a SFU upgraded DOF Reality platform, you will likely need to adjust the Effects Slider and Smoothing Effect settings.
Below you will find tunings for Digital Combat Simulator (DCS). These tunings utilize multiple sessions of captured telemetry in takeoff, landing, normal and extreme flight. Aircraft include the Su-25, Spitfire LF Mk IX, Bf 109K-4, Su-33, TF-51D, F/A-18C, F-16C Viper, A-10C, A-10C 2, F-15C, AV8B, UH-1H, Ka-50, Mi-8MT, and the SA342 Gazelle. The goal was to provide a smoother experience for aircraft, yet retaining their individual performance characteristics. Helicopter tunings are highly recommended as they are tuned specifically for their capabilities via telemetry (higher Yaw values) and will assist in maintaining flight.
IMPORTANT NOTE REGARDING SWAY
DCS will cause spikes in Sway for unknown reasons while the aircraft is on the ground or when first loading into the game (air or ground). This is most noticeable directly after engine start, taxiing to the runway, or when loading onto a carrier catapult. This is a bug with DCS telemetry output. Sway Effect Smoothing has been increased to mitigate this issue.
IMPORTANT SHAKER TUNING
There is no telemetry output for RPM in DCS (except on the Su-25 and F-15C), thus engine RPM will not be widely available as a shake effect. It's recommend to utilize sound based shaker abilities (to feel all engine vibrations, weapons fire, and explosions, etc). Example tuning provide at bottom.

F/A-18C Hornet, F-16C Viper, F-14B, F-15C, Su-33 and General Tuning
Notes: This tuning will work for most modern jet fighter aircraft including the F/A-18C Hornet, F-16C Viper, F-14B, F-15C, and the Su-33. It can also be utilized as a General Tuning for DCS as a baseline prior to aircraft specific tuning. Increased Surge and Heave Max Telemetry to match performance of the aircraft. Lowered Roll Smoothing Effect to match roll rate of aircraft.
Spitfire LF Mk IX and Bf 109K-4
Notes: This tuning can be utilized for both the Spitfire LF Mk IX and the Bf-109K-4. Effect Smoothing increased for Roll and Yaw to balance performance of the aircraft. Telemetry gathered from dog fighting, taxiing, and landings.
A-10C, A-10C2 "Warthog" and Sukhoi Su-25T
Notes: The tuning can be utilized for the A-10C, A-10C2, and the Su-25T. Increased Sway Max Telemetry to match performance of the aircraft. Roll Effect Smoothing increased to 15.
TF-51D Mustang
Notes: Increased Yaw Max Telemetry and reduced Effect Slider to match performance of the aircraft. Surge and Roll Max Telemetry slightly reduced. Heave slider increased to balance aircraft performance.
WARNING: The TF-51D has a extremely high and fast telemetry values due to its performance. If the motion is still extreme, reduce the Max Angle slider in the Platform Tuning section.
AV8B Harrier
Notes: Increased Surge Max Telemetry to match performance of the aircraft. Heave Effect Slider increased to assist with VTOL. Special Note on Yaw: Yaw for the Harrier is not very pronounced in DCS as might be expected while hovering. If more Yaw is desired, increase the Yaw slider to towards 20. If still more Yaw motion is desired after reaching 20 on the Effects slider, being to lower Yaw Max Telemetry 1 point at a time.
Bell UH-1H "Huey" and General Helicopter Tuning
Notes: Utilized as a baseline tuning for all helicopters, the UH-1H tuning has adjusted Effect Sliders and Max Telemetry for all Effects based on captured telemetry. This tuning can be utilized for other helicopters not specifically tuned below.
Kamov Ka-50
Notes: Sway Effect Slider decreased due to Sway spikes. Smoothing Effects utilized to balance additional telemetry spikes for the helicopter.
Mil Mi-8MTV2
Notes: Pitch and Roll Max Telemetry increased to minimize jarring movement. Sway Max Telemetry increased to minimize telemetry spikes.
SA342 Gazelle
Notes: Yaw Max Telemetry significantly increased to represent aerobatic abilities of the Gazelle. Surge and Heave Max Telemetry tuned to output telemetry.
SRS Shaker Tuning for DCS
Notes: Disabled shaking effects for Vert G and and Long G/Lateral G which is utilized for non-moving platforms. Reduced Engine slider to be in sync with DCS engine noise and to reduce the pulsing effect.
@Jeff Weaver , Is there an opportunity to mitigate this issue by SRS ignoring the first few values being sent by DCS upon game start? I'm wondering if ED will prioritize this at all given SRS users are a tiny fraction of their client base.
Also does anyone know if there is a documented API for the how SRS streams data from DCS? I'm eager to dive in and see how the data is streamed.
Thanks for this. Notice much better control response on my P6. One question I do have though is what the heck is going on with Yaw axis...Anytime I try to tinker with it, it instantly kicks my entire platform about 30 degrees to the left in a violent manner and I lose almost all motion at that point. Any ideas?
Landing on a runway causes violent shaking as if I'm rolling out on a crater filled runway. I've tried reducing the Vertical G setting, but seems as if it's still a bit too exaggerated. Any thoughts on settings adjustments or has anyone else experienced this ?

Actually, it's not SRS's fault. It's all related to the limitations that DCS exposes in their shared memory data stream. I have tried to use DCS with SRS with motion on a Prosimu while keeping the butt shakers via audio signal and it works great.
You mention 'It's recommend to utilize sound based shaker abilities' in regards to DCS and Shaker Tuning, but you don't really expand on that? What does that mean? I THINK you are saying that the ShakeKit doesn't REALLY support DCS at all. That's what I'm finding at least. I think they should not say they support DCS when they don't, very misleading in my opinion. I feel pretty let down.

Retired tunings as of 11/16/2020. These have been replaced with new tunings that utilize the SRS Effects Smoothing feature.
